Mike Venables, P.Eng.

Mike Venables, P.Eng.

President and General Manager Ontario/Quebec Region

Mike has held a Commercial Pilot License for over 40 years with multi-engine land and sea ratings and an instrument endorsement. He was a glider instructor for a number of years and ran Private and Commercial Pilot ground schools for several Flight Training Units.

Mike graduated with a degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering and has worked as an experimental test engineer for aircraft power plants (Pratt and Whitney Canada), an aircraft design engineer (Bombardier Aerospace), a flight simulator project engineer (CAE Electronics), a space systems training analyst (Canadian Space Agency) and an avionics product marketing manager (CMC Electronics).

Mike is also our Chief Pilot and Operations Manager.

Mike is also an accomplished fine art landscape photographer. A member of the Merrickville Artists Guild, his work can be seen at his fine art website and The Grotto Artworks in Merrickville.

Rick served for 35 years in the Canadian Forces and the Royal Canadian Air Force, with the first nine years being spent as an Air Traffic Controller. In 1998 he graduated with a Masters Degree in organizational psychology and focussed on the development and application of selection procedures for military pilots, aircrew, air traffic controllers and air support personnel.

For a six year span Rick was responsible for the management of an air force – wide human resource program, developing and delivering training modules that provided awareness of the policies and processes put in place to ensure people were treated with dignity and respect while in the air force environment.

Rick is also our Director of Crew Training.

Rick’s primary pastime is fly fishing for trout, salmon, bass and just about anything else that happens to swim by.

Chuck is currently a Licensed Private Investigator and an elected member of the Merrickville-Wolford Council.

He served 30 years with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), retiring in 2012 after managing the firearms program in Eastern Ontario for 10 years. His career with the OPP was varied having served as a front line police officer, Community Police Officer and Detective Constable. While serving with the OPP he also taught Interviewing and Interrogation classes at Algonquin College in Ottawa and was an elected representative on the OPP Association.

Chuck graduated with a Diploma in Journalism from Conestoga College and subsequently obtained his BA from the University of Waterloo and is a graduate of the Police Association Certified Executive program (PACE).

Chuck is an active community volunteer.

Producing compelling video stories is a passion for Scott Hannant. When he isn’t on the road with Hannant Media Solutions, you can find him in the television facilities at Carleton University. Scott teaches television journalism to third year students and advanced television production at the Masters level.

Scott ‘s pursuits of video stories have taken him across Canada and around the world.

Scott was News Director and Executive Producer at CTV Ottawa, one of Canada’s most successful television newsrooms. He was with CTV for 22 years.

Examples of his work include a series on Canadians who served as Aga Khan Fellows (Aga Khan Video Profiles) and a series on the people who provide a variety of services for the Victorian Order of Nurses Canada (VON).
